The situation

Thursday, 5 November, noon. Inflation has eased for two months, but services prices are still high and the labour market is cooling more slowly than the forecasts. Your committee sets the policy rate and publishes its reasons within the hour. You want a 25 basis-point cut, with a published condition for reversing it. The inflation hawk says a cut now risks the last mile of disinflation and wants a hold. The labour-market member expects unemployment to rise and wants a faster path. The growth member wants the statement to say how a cut reaches lending. The chief economist will only vote for a cut that comes with a full forecast and a reversal trigger. Markets will price every word of the statement. Talk alone will not move a committee; the forecast, the reversal trigger and the vote count…

What the simulation expects

No read yet for this simulation.

This is the simulation’s read, not a forecast that it is right.

How scoring works

You have 8 turns. You win by bringing the table to at least 68% support. Your points come from how much of the table you bring around, with each person counted by how much their view carries. Each turn you say one thing. The table moves on what you say; reach 68% to win. Every turn is re-checked from the moves you made, so the score can be reproduced.

A limited number of turns are free. After that, each turn costs credits. The game shows what you have left before you spend anything.
