Simulated scenario
Redistricting night: draw the feeder zones
The goal Pass the feeder-zone map tonight with four votes, phased in over two years, with the bus savings minuted by route.
Your seat Board vice-chair presenting the map
No one has finished this one yet.
The situation
Thursday, 7 p.m., school board. Enrolment at two elementary schools has drifted far from capacity, and the district must redraw the feeder zones for next September. Your map moves 340 students, keeps every walk under 25 minutes and cuts six bus routes. A parent representative from the Eastside wants her children to stay at the school they can walk to. The board member for the school losing students will not vote for a map that empties its classrooms. The finance member has seen the bus contract and wants savings in writing. The teachers' representative asks for class sizes within three students of each other. Public comment has run two hours, and the vote is at 9:40. The last map failed 3-2 after a parent walked out. Talk alone will not redraw a map; walk times, bus savings and a phase-in…

How scoring works
You have 8 turns. You win by bringing the table to at least 66% support. Your points come from how much of the table you bring around, with each person counted by how much their view carries. Each turn you say one thing. The table moves on what you say; reach 66% to win. Every turn is re-checked from the moves you made, so the score can be reproduced.
A limited number of turns are free. After that, each turn costs credits. The game shows what you have left before you spend anything.
